India just passed into 2008 from 2007, and what an year it was! Fast and exhilarating, I can still feel the rush of things as they flash through my mind. Although it could have been better in many ways, it is a happy feeling to know that I was able to use it judiciously.
Here is a brief account of what happened:-
- I actually managed to get featured on the front page of the Sunday Times edition of the Times of India on November 4, 2007. I suppose you’d be surprised if you saw your face peering out at you from the front page of the most-widely circulated daily in the world? Congratulations to Akash and Srikeit – we deserved it, mates!
- Attended Wikimania 2007, the International Wikimedia Conference at Taipei, Taiwan and the Tbilisiplus30, the Fourth International Conference on Environmental Education.
- Was able to finally meet Jimmy Wales, the founder of Wikipedia, along with hundred of fellow Wikimaniacs.
- Went to the top of the tallest building in the world on the world’s fastest elevator.
- Met Mr. Mahesh Pradhan and Dr. Michael Atchia from the United Nations Environment Programme.
- Started learning Mandarin and Esperanto.
- [Late addendum] Met Tejas Gandhi quite a few times over the holidays. He was here for his holidays as well. Tejas Gandhi is a Ph.D student from the United States. He has a pseudo-Canadian accent.
